Fostering Information

In order to foster one of our Dobermans, first you should know our qualifications and your responsibilities as a foster parent.

1. All fosters MUST have a fence.

2. Since we use certain Vets and specialists  for our rescues, we prefer you use them. However if it is not convenient since some of the Fosters live in different locations we will accept your Vet as long as we are notified ahead of time.We would like a consult with the Vet.We will also give you a referral.

3. Previous experience with large breeds is preferred.

4. You must provide a vet reference.

5. No children under 12 in the home.

6. No foster dogs are to be under the care of teenagers.

7. If you work during the day or must be away from home for an extended period of time, we require that you either have a dogwalker come and walk the dogs or have someone check in on them at least twice a day.

8. Any health issue must be reported to Carole Rushing,at Doberman Rescue of Rockdale, as soon as possible.

Thank you for considering fostering an animal in need. Please fill out a foster application to be considered.

Fostering Responsibilities

Foster Parents are responsible for:

1. Fosters are responsible for taking Rescues to Vet.

2. A lot of rescues, particularly Dobermans are needy and don't won't to feel like they are being abandoned again. It would be better to start a foster when you have a few days to spend with him without leaving.

Foster Parents are NOT responsible for:

1. Vet bills are paid by our rescue.

2. Our rescue covers all food and treat cost.

3. We will provide a crate for you if you do not have one.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email Carole Rushing at cruzemine@comcast.net
